Individualised Person Centred Approach to Nursing Care with and for Older People This essay explores the idea of Person Centred Care and the significance it has in caring for an older patient. Issues related to patients incapable of taking part in their care will also be discussed.
The person-centered theorist claims that these behaviors automatically change in socially desired direction when the client’s perception is more differentiated and when the client discovers for one’s self more satisfying ways of meeting his or her own and society’s needs.
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Person Centered Therapy Person centered therapy is a psychological therapy developed by Carl Rogers. It works by basing the process of treatment with the clients as experts as opposed to the therapists. The therapy’s primary goal is to help individuals by employing active listening, compassion and unconditional positivism that allows clients to communicate.
In this essay I will discuss The Person Centred-Care, what it is and how as a student nurse can be promoted with limited of authority. The following three areas chosen that as a student nurse will be discussing in this essay are: Confidentiality, Accuracy of Information and Working in Partnership.
The Person-Centred Review process is a way of making sure that there is a person-centred approach to planning with individuals even when there are time constraints and the planning might happen because the service requires it.
Person-centred care moves away from professionals deciding what is best for a patient or service user, and places the person at the centre, as an expert of their own experience. The person, and their family where appropriate, becomes an equal partner in the planning of their care and support, ensuring it needs their needs, goals, and outcomes.
Person centred approach is a humanistic phenomenological approach founded by Carl Rodgers, an American humanistic psychologist who believed in a way an individual sees themselves and realising their full potential for their personal growth and personal development he called “self actualisation”.
